Introducción:

Itachi nació en el Clan Uchiha, y a temprana edad fue considerado como el más habilidoso de su generación. El mayormente era alabado por su inteligencia y ese elogio viniendo del Clan Uchiha significaba que Itachi era extremadamente talentoso de muy pequeño. Sin embargo, muy pocos entendían el gran dolor que llevaba por dentro; a la edad de 4 años, Itachi había presenciado numerosas muertes durante la Tercera Guerra Mundial Shinobi, las cuales lo condujeron a ser un pacifista (alguien que no apoya la violencia). Durante el ataque a Konoha, cuando Obito peleaba con Minato, Itachi estaba solo cargando en brazos a su pequeño hermano a quién prometía protegerlo sin importar qué.

Itachi era un niño muy curioso y pasaba la mayor parte de su tiempo en explorar todo lo que veía mientras los demás niños de su edad solo pensaban en jugar, según cuenta el Tercer Hokage, a los 7 años ya tenia la capacidad para discernir como un Hokage.
No le fue difícil y consiguió graduarse de la academia a la edad de 7 años, dominó su Sharingan a los 8 años, y aprobó los exámenes Chunin cuando tenía 10 años. Medio año después ingresó a la ANBU, a los 11 años ya estaba en Akatsuki, y a los 13 años fue promovido a Capitán ANBU.

El padre de Itachi solía halagarlo muchas veces, diciendo que era el futuro del clan. Lamentablemente eso significaba que su padre mayormente ignorara y descuidara a Sasuke, a quien Itachi profesaba amor y motivaba siempre a ser mejor ninja. Por ejemplo, en la ceremonia de ingreso de Sasuke a la Academia y a pesar del pedido de Itachi a su padre para que asistiera, este terminó olvidando ir.

Itachi llegó a formar parte de ANBU mas que todo por orden del Clan ya que los Uchiha estaban planeando derrocar la aldea de Konoha y por eso necesitaban a alguien que actuara como espía. Sin embargo Itachi sabía que este atentado sobre Konoha provocaría otra gran Guerra Ninja, ocasión que las otras 4 grandes aldeas aprovecharían, lo cual impediría a toda costa siendo el pacifista que es. Por esta razón, Itachi empezó a actuar como doble espía, informaba todos los planes al Tercer Hokage y a los líderes de Konoha espiando secretamente a su propio clan. Durante este tiempo, Itachi empezaba a realizar cosas como faltar a las reuniones y quejarse de las ambiciones del clan.
El clan empezó a sospechar y lo acusaban de la misteriosa muerte de Shisui Uchiha (quien fuera su mejor amigo) a quien encontraron ahogado en el Rio Naka y que presuntamente se había suicidado dada una carta encontrada en su poder. Más adelante se sabe que Shisui realmente se suicida y antes le ofrece el sharingan que le quedaba, ya estaba tuerto en ese entonces, para que Itachi utilizara su poder si se presentara el caso.
Dado que Fugaku empezaba a entenderse menos con Itachi, empezó a mostrar interés en Sasuke y enfocándose en su entrenamiento. Itachi también ayudaba a Sasuke pero no tanto como quisiera dado el poco tiempo libre que tenía.
A medida que los intentos de paz entre Konoha y el Clan Uchiha no resultaban, el Tercer Hokage, con insistencia de Danzou y los otros líderes, ordenó a Itachi a exterminar el Clan Uchiha.

Por aquel entonces, Itachi había sentido la presencia de alguien que merodeaba la aldea, fue el único que pudo ver a este enmascarado bajo el nombre de Tobi y que aseguraba ser Madara Uchiha. Este hombre intentaba revivir las llamas de guerra en Konoha, entonces Itachi le propuso acabar con todos los Uchihas, quienes le habían dado la espalda hace varias decadas atrás, con la condición de no atacar a Konoha. Obito aceptó e Itachi cumplió, posteriormente ambos asesinaron a todos los Uchihas en una noche, incluyendo sus propios amigos, padres, su enamorada, etc. Este evento importante no tardó en ser conocido más adelante como la Masacre del Clan Uchiha.
Sin embargo, Itachi no cumplió con la orden mandada puesto que no había matado a Sasuke, a quien amaba. Aquella noche, Itachi se encuentra con su hermano quien ya había visto los cadáveres de regreso de la academia. Posteriormente, y en su afán de decepcionarlo y alimentar el odio hacia él, le hace presenciar la muerte de sus padres y le hace creer que los mata a sangre fría, cosa que solo era un genjutsu; no satisfecho con eso, le hace creer también que él era el autor del asesinato de Shisui para obtener el Mangekyou Sharingan, evento que sucede matando al mejor amigo; que no lo mataba porque no valía la pena; le contó también la guarida secreta del Clan donde yacen los secretos del Sharingan y que la próxima vez que se vieran, Sasuke debería tener aquellos ojos. Consecuencia que traumatiza a Sasuke y que Itachi planeara para que su hermano se vuelva más fuerte y puede así vengarse; de este modo su hermano se convierte en un héroe de Konoha y se sienta orgulloso de su clan.

Más adelante se sabe que los padres de Itachi, justo antes de morir, le hacen saber que estaban orgullosos de él y que protegiera a Sasuke. También se supo que Itachi antes de irse de la aldea, le rogó al Tercer Hokage de cuidar de Sasuke. Luego del asesinato del Tercer Hokage y como no había nadie quien asegurara la protección de su hermano, Itachi vuelve a Konoha y amenaza a Danzou de contar los secretos de Konoha a los enemigos si hacía algo en contra de Sasuke.

Lejos ya de Konoha, Itachi forma parte de Akatsuki en donde se establece toda su vida emparejado con Kisame para la caza de los Bijuus.
Se le ve más adelante en un flashback de Deidara, cuando Akatsuki intentaba reclutarlo. Itachi lo vence a los pocos segundos y Deidara cuestiona su propio arte luego de ser presa ante los genjutsus; Deidara planea su venganza uniéndose a la organización.
Según Orochimaru y sus compañeros de Akatsuki, Itachi habría sido ya de Akatsuki a los 11 años, cuando el Sannin deja la organización (antes de la Masacre Uchiha). Por aquel entonces se ve a Orochimaru atacando a Itachi con el afán de apoderarse de su cuerpo, intento que Itachi impide contra atacando con un genjutsu y que luego le cortara la mano para que no ejecute más ninjutsus.
Se sabe también que Itachi espiaba Akatsuki e informaba a Konoha, segun aseguraba el Tercer Hokage.

En algún momento, Itachi contrae una enfermedad mortal la cual trata con una serie de medicinas para mantenerse con vida y así pueda vivir lo suficiente para morir por las manos de Sasuke como había planeado desde un principio.

Itachi was great at using ninjutsu and his main nature affinity was fire release. Itachis Fireball Jutsu was enough to be feared among any ninja, and on top of that, Itachi had the ability to infuse Shuriken with his Fireball to add twice the amount of danger to his attacks. He also has other moves that use this same form of shuriken additions. For example, he uses the Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Flower Nail, which is basically a shuriken infused with chakra in the form of fire. Itachi has the ability to control how his Shuriken moves throughout the air and will also have the shuriken burn after impact, no matter how flammable or not flammable the object is.
If the enemy has an earth element based fighting style, Itachi is also quite proficient with Water Release. For example, the Water Release: Water Fang Bullet is a jutsu that takes a body of water and is pulled in which ever direction the user wants in a spiraling motion. This gives it an added pressure and makes the technique deal more physical damage than a regular water based move. Although, it should be noted that Itachi is not skilled enough to make his own body of water (atmosphere, mouth, etc), he needs an external source to preform water based moves.

Itachi grew up and mastered the sharingan by the mere age of eight. He's reached the point where he could keep his Sharingan activated for a long period of time with it draining minimal chakra, somewhat like Kakashis sharingan or Nagatos Rinnegan. Itachis specialty with the Sharingan was his genjutsu abilities. They were far beyond average, being able to put someone under a genjutsu with merely pointing at someone or even turn someones genjutsu against them. Itachi has also reached the point where he could use the eye technique Izanami, one of the most powerful and respected techniques. He also udnerstoof the counterpart of it, Izanagi, in just about full depth.

Mangekyō Sharingan
Itachi, unlike most members of the Uchiha clan, obtained the Mangekyō Sharingan. This allowed him to use various extremely powerful techniques such as Tsukiyomi, Amaterasu, and even Susanoo. His Susanoo is quite special, it wielded the Blade of Totsuka, a blade in which it seals anything it cuts, and the Yata Mirror, which could repel just about any attack. The Susanoo also contained the Yasaka Magatama, which is a long ranged attack. This attack acts somewhat similarly to the purpose of a shuriken, although much more stronger. It's been shown that Itachi since the moves were very chakra draining, and he used his Mangekyō Sharingan so much during his life that the design of his eye actually faded so much that all you could see was the red iris, which is either blinding or on the brink of it.

Taijutsu

Although this is not Itachis preferred fighting style, he does have quite a bit of Taijutsu capability. Some examples of this are when he knocked away Sasukes Chidori with one hand, he was also able to keep up with B and Naruto while in his Nine-Tails Chakra Mode, although he couldn't handle both at the same time. Another time in which Itachi demonstrated his Taijutsu prowess is when he defeated three of his superiors who were all in the police force.
Also, Itachi was said to have good speed and reaction timing, being able to throw weapons and/or weave hand signs almost instantaneously in any given situation. Even Kakashi, a person who's copied over 1,000 jutsus had a hard time keeping up with Itachis hand sealing movements. Itachi could also use the Body Flicker Technique, being able to attack a target, then immediately move to the location they had retreated to, giving them no time to initiate a counterattack.

Inteligencia

It's quite obvious that Itachi has a vast amount of intelligence that he gained throughout his life, or even in his early childhood. Since he was a child, his parents, superiors, and peers all regarded him as the best in his generation due to his keen intellect. He's able to come up with counteracts or strategies in general that put him at a heightened advantage, while keeping his enemy at a large disadvantage. He's able to be analytical and perceptive, being able to deduce the inner workings and weaknesses of powerful techniques, even while under pressure. Itachi also once said something along the lines of every jutsu has its weakness.
He also completely set up his battle with Sasuke to make sure everything worked out as Itachi had planned, which proves not only he can come up with strategies mid-fight, but also make long term plans that come down to the closest detail. He also accounted for the fact that his plan may not work, so he put Shisuis Mangekyō Sharingan inside of Naruto just in case. Kabuto also said that Itachi is quite deceptive, as he's able to pull apart the enemies emotions and use them for his advantage.

Chakra

Itachi had a decent amount of chakra, there's nothing too special about the amount he has. Although, Itachi tends to keep his Chakra precious and use it only when necessary, rather than resorting to susanoo spam (sasuke xD). One example of this is the fact that Itachi wasn't blind yet. Take Sasuke for example, he had his Mangekyō Sharingan for not too long, and he almost went blind in both of his eyes from using it only a few times. He already had to get an eye transplant because of it. Meanwhile, Itachi had it for at least ten years, maybe even more and he still didn't go blind in his eyes.
Also, Itachi has good chakra control seeing as how he's able to use two nature transformations effectively in the middle of a fight. Also, he's able to manipulate things such as shuriken by infusing chakra in it with an external force such as fire (or potentially water?).
